Terms of Service

What fyb is
fyb.events (“fyb”) is a ticketing, membership and governance platform for burn events. It is operated by FYB Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17427970), registered office 21 Linden Road, Leatherhead, KT22 7JB. For anything in these terms, contact hello@fyb.events.
fyb connects burn organisers with attendees. Each burn (the organisation running the event) is the merchant of record for its own tickets and memberships. fyb facilitates ticketing, applications, membership and governance tooling on their behalf, but does not own, organise or control the events themselves.
Your account
- You must provide accurate information when you create an account, including your real name and date of birth.
- You are responsible for keeping your login details secure. If you think someone else has accessed your account, contact us immediately.
- One account per person. Do not create multiple accounts to circumvent ticket limits, bans or other restrictions.
Your account and your data
- Your account is provided by FYB Limited and governed by these Terms and the Privacy Notice.
- Organisations on the platform (burns) are third-party burn organisations: legal entities separate from FYB Limited. The data you give an organisation — memberships, tickets, sign-ups, meeting and election records — is controlled by that organisation, and your relationship for that data is with them. FYB acts as their processor.
- Acceptance of these Terms is not consent to data processing; each processing purpose has its own lawful basis set out in the Privacy Notice.
- A record that you accepted these Terms is retained even if you later delete your account, because it evidences the contract between us.
Tickets and payments
- When you buy a ticket, your contract is with the burn that runs the event, not with fyb. Refund and cancellation policies are set by each event and shown on its page before purchase.
- Card payments go directly from your browser to Stripe and never touch our servers. Each burn processes payments through its own Stripe account.
- Tickets are personal. Transfers and resale are governed by each event’s policies. Selling above face value or scalping is prohibited on fyb.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use fyb for anything fraudulent, illegal or harmful.
- Harass, threaten or abuse other users, event staff or fyb personnel.
- Attempt to buy tickets using automated tools, bots or scripts.
- Circumvent ticket limits, waiting rooms or age restrictions.
- Scrape, crawl or bulk-download data from the platform.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
Your content
Anything you post (profile information, camp descriptions, application answers) must be truthful and must not infringe anyone’s rights. We may remove content that violates these terms.
Suspension and termination
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, engage in fraud, or behave in a way that puts other users or events at risk.
- You can delete your account at any time from Account → Privacy. See our Privacy Notice for what happens to your data.
Liability
fyb is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep it running, secure and accurate, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to your use of fyb is limited to the amount you paid to fyb (not to event organisers) in the 12 months before the claim.
We are not liable for the acts, omissions or policies of event organisers, including cancellations, refunds or on-site incidents. Your rights under consumer law are not affected.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we do, you will be asked to re-agree next time you sign in. Material changes will also be communicated by email. Continued use after agreeing to updated terms constitutes acceptance.
Assignment
We may assign or novate these terms, in whole or in part, to any member of our corporate group or to a successor operator of the platform. If we do, we will tell you, and your rights under these terms will not be reduced. You may not transfer your account or these terms to anyone else.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
