In 10 words

Be the main contact between theme camps and the organisers.

Activities / responsibilities

  • Be the main contact for every theme camp, and support camp leads.
  • Help camps understand what the organisers need from them.
  • Keep track of deadlines and chase missing information.
  • Answer camps' questions, and point them to the right circle when it's not yours to answer.
  • Work with DPW, Placement, EOC, Health & Safety, Power, Leave No Trace, Consent, the WWW and the Work Access Pass coordinators.
  • Update the theme camp application form each year, and make it simpler where you can.
  • Manage the application deadline and share the answers with the teams who need them.
  • Run an online co-working session shortly before applications close, so camp leads can fill in the form together and ask questions as they go.
  • Keep in touch with camps through Signal, the Community email and direct contact.

The best bit about this role

You're the person who knows what every camp is up to. It's organised cat-herding, and you help a lot of camps make it to the event.

You'll be great at this if you

  • are comfortable working with lots of different teams at once
  • like keeping track of details and deadlines, and don't mind chasing
  • can explain what organisers need clearly and kindly
  • stay patient when different teams want different things
  • know how theme camps work, ideally from running or being part of one

Time commitment

When
Commitment
Pre event
One of the bigger Community roles. Busiest around the application deadline and in the run-up, chasing camps and passing their details on to other teams.
During event
On hand for camp leads on site, and passing their questions to the right circle.
